Nuevos Varietales

The young wine line of Bodega Santa Julia expands with the arrival of two new labels.

With the revitalization of the Santa Julia Varietal line’s image, two new varieties join the project. These are a Pinot Noir and a Cabernet Franc from Mendoza, which enter the market to complete a portfolio of 12 wines. This portfolio includes classics such as Malbec, Torrontés, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Merlot, Syrah, and Sauvignon Blanc, along with more innovative options such as Tempranillo, Viognier, and Pinot Grigio.

Among all the grapes cultivated by Santa Julia, Pinot Noir is one of the most sophisticated, possessing a successful balance between elegance and freshness. The climate of the Andes in Mendoza has embraced this variety well, with its origins in Argentina dating back to the late 19th century.

Pinot Noir wines are considered among the finest in the world and are ideal for those beginning to explore red wines. Due to its thin skin and low levels of phenolic compounds, it produces wines with a light color, soft body, and few tannins. Its aroma recalls fresh red fruits like cherries, while on the palate, its passage is appreciated as light but with character.

On the other hand, Cabernet Franc is a variety that has been planted in Argentina since the mid-19th century. However, it is in the 1990s that it begins to expand with the purpose of providing strength in red blend wines. Over time, it has become a highly sought-after variety for varietals as well, with characteristics that distinguish it and make it unique. It is known for its aromas of red fruits such as strawberries and blackberries, but its unmistakable characteristic is the herbal notes. It produces wines with very good structure and refreshing acidity.

“We have recently relaunched the Santa Julia Varietal line under the tagline ‘Time gets better with wine.’ The proposal for consumers is to enjoy wine on the everyday table, with friends, family, or partners, and to choose Santa Julia varietal for every gathering,” explains Juan Ignacio Guzman, Marketing Manager at Bodega Santa Julia. “Not all wines are the same to us, which is why we focus on quality and innovation, adding new consumption channels for our audience and maintaining an enological line of fresh and easy-to-drink wines.”

Santa Julia Pinot Noir and Santa Julia Cabernet Franc will be available in wine shops and restaurants.
