Gastronomy

Picnic in
the gardens

A proposal for lunch in the gardens of Casa del Visitante, enjoying a picnic with a variety of sharing options and, of course, our natural wines.

We start with rye bread and focaccia, served with beet pickle, homemade almond ricotta, and a touch of za’atar. A selection of cold cuts and homemade pickles, paired with artisanal cheeses accompanied by quince cooked in wine. Fresh watercress salad with a delicate caramelized onion dressing and crispy sweet potato. Homemade meatball panini, topped with tomato extract, aromatic yogurt sauce, and a mix of fresh herbs.

For dessert, to sweeten the finale, a delicious toffee tart with coffee cream. Semifreddo of solería crowned with pistachio praline.

Regional Menu

Welcoming: A house-made preserve accompanied by a bread basket featuring focaccia, rye bread, and sourdough bread cooked over coals.

Starter: La Chacha empanadas: one with beef, olives, and egg; another with fontina, mozzarella, and blue cheese; and the last with seasonal vegetables. All served with a homemade tomato sauce.

And the fireworks display begins. ….

First course: Pork flank steak (matambre), homemade sausage, and goat, accompanied by a grilled zucchini salad with salsiky—a sauce made of natural yogurt, fresh oregano, and ají panka flakes. Also, a watercress salad with caramelized onion dressing and crispy sweet potato (boniato pay).

Second course: Ribeye (ojo de bife) served with “hidden” potatoes and potato chips seasoned with paprika. A mixed tomato salad with orange vinaigrette, celery, popped quinoa, and fresh basil.

Dessert: Our cart of local cheeses and homemade sweets, paired with a toffee cake and cow’s milk dulce de leche.

Finally, cafeteria service with petit fours and, as a sweet option, a homemade cake …. if the customer wishes!

Activities

Come to harvest

Come to harvest

As every year during the grape harvest season, on Wednesdays and Fridays in February and March, visitors to Casa del Visitante can choose to take part in the “Come and harvest” program and pick grapes with their own hands. and thus harvest the grapes with their own hands. The task is carried out with the help of guides, who explain to the participants the importance of the grape harvest and the use of the tools provided by the winery.
Come to cook

Come to cook

This is an exclusive cooking class with the chefs of Casa del Visitante, where they teach how to use regional products to prepare typical meals. The program includes breakfast, cooking class, gift apron, visit to Santa Julia winery, and wine tasting. Our visitors can choose between two menu proposals: with La Chacha’s empanadas at the foot of the clay oven or a complete lunch with the Fires and Garden Menu.
Malamado Bartender

Malamado Bartender

I lived a unique cocktail experience, hand in hand with Malamado, the first fortified wine in the country. It is an exclusive cocktail class, where participants are taught to make cocktails with Malamado; then they must create their own drink. The activity is accompanied by a tasting of Malamado wines and a visit to the winery.
Bike & tasting

Bike & tasting

This bike tour proposal allows you to enjoy a landscape of vineyards and get to know a genuine Mendoza wine production estate. During the tour and at strategic stops we will pause to taste the wines of Bodega Santa Julia. The activity ends at Casa del Visitante with empanadas from La Chacha at the foot of the clay oven or with the proposal of a complete lunch with the Menu de Fuegos y Huerta.
Finca Maipú is also home to Zuelo, the olive oil division of the Zuccardi family, created and led by Miguel Zuccardi. If you are in Maipú and are interested in learning about the Zuelo experience and the gastronomic proposals of its Pan&Oliva restaurant, you can access its website from here.
